Rhythms of Andalusia

Across Southern Spain

Rhythms of Andalusia follows ten days through the cities and landscapes that define southern Spain. The journey moves through Córdoba, Seville, and Granada, where centuries of Islamic, Jewish, and Christian influence shaped the architecture and culture of the region. You’ll stand beneath the arches of the Mezquita, walk through royal palaces and cathedral squares, and explore historic quarters that still carry the atmosphere of earlier centuries. Along the way we visit white hill towns overlooking olive valleys, experience the traditions of local food and flamenco, and spend time in the places that give Andalusia its enduring character.

    Day 2 — Córdoba Immersion

Begin the morning with a guided visit inside the Mezquita-Catedral, where forest-like arches reveal the layered history of Islamic and Christian Córdoba. Continue through the old city to see several of the famous patios and courtyards before visiting the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos and its gardens. Lunch follows in the Jewish Quarter. The afternoon allows time to rest at the hotel or explore nearby streets on your own. Dinner is taken at a local restaurant in the evening.

    Day 3 — Córdoba → Jaén → Baeza → Úbeda

After breakfast, depart Córdoba by private coach and travel into the olive-growing hills of Jaén province. Stop first in the city of Jaén to visit its cathedral, one of the great Renaissance churches of Spain, followed by views from the hilltop castle across the surrounding valley. Continue on to Baeza for a walk through its cathedral square and old university quarter, then proceed to nearby Úbeda and check into the hotel. After lunch, explore the historic center around Plaza Vázquez de Molina, where palaces and churches reflect the city’s Renaissance past. Evening at leisure.

    Day 4 — Úbeda → Granada

After breakfast, depart Úbeda and continue south toward Granada. Arrive early afternoon and settle into the hotel. Later, walk through the Albayzín, Granada’s old Moorish quarter, ending at the Mirador de San Nicolás for views across to the Alhambra. Evening at leisure.

Day 5 — Granada and the Alhambra

The morning is devoted to the Alhambra and the Generalife Gardens. A guided visit moves through the Nasrid Palaces, courtyards, and garden terraces of the former royal city. After lunch, continue with visits to the Capilla Real, burial place of Ferdinand and Isabella, and the nearby cathedral. The afternoon remains open for exploring the historic center. In the evening, enjoy flamenco in the caves of Sacromonte followed by dinner.

    Day 6 — Granada → Ronda

Depart Granada by private coach and travel west through the Andalusian countryside toward the Serranía de Ronda. Arrive in Ronda around midday and check into the hotel. After lunch near the historic center, spend the afternoon visiting the Puente Nuevo, the Plaza de Toros, and the Arab Baths. Evening at leisure.

Day 7 — Ronda → Zahara de la Sierra → Sevilla

After breakfast, depart Ronda and continue west through the mountains toward Sevilla. Stop in Zahara de la Sierra, a white village set beneath the ruins of its Moorish castle, before continuing across the Andalusian countryside. Arrive in Sevilla in the afternoon and check into the hotel. Evening at leisure.

    Day 8 — Sevilla Orientation

After breakfast, take a relaxed walk through the historic center and the Barrio de Santa Cruz to become familiar with the city. The afternoon is free to explore, rest, or enjoy Sevilla at your own pace. Evening at leisure.

    Day 9 — Sevilla’s Monuments

Begin the day inside Seville Cathedral and climb the Giralda Tower for views across the city. Continue with a visit to the Archivo de Indias before entering the Real Alcázar, the palace complex shaped by centuries of Islamic and Christian design. Lunch follows nearby. In the evening, cross the river into the Triana district for a tapas dinner.

    Day 10 — Departure Day

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departure. Transfers to the airport or train station can be arranged. From Sevilla, high-speed trains connect to Madrid and other major Spanish cities for onward travel.

  • This tour involves daily walking, typically 2–4 miles per day, often on uneven stone streets, cobblestones, and historic stairways. Several sites include stairs and moderate inclines. In places like Córdoba, Granada, Ronda, and Sevilla, elevation changes are part of the experience.

Walking is steady but manageable, with breaks built into the day. Participants should be comfortable walking for extended periods and standing during guided visits.

Elevators are available at some major sites, though access in historic areas can be limited. If you have specific mobility concerns, please contact us before booking so we can discuss whether this tour is the right fit.
