Frequently asked questions
Madridean Tours focuses on small-group, culturally immersive travel experiences in Spain. Our itineraries are designed by historians and cultural experts to give travelers a deeper understanding of Spain’s history, art, food, and regional traditions. Rather than rushing through a checklist of landmarks, our tours are designed to create meaningful connections with the places we visit.
Our tours are intentionally kept small to ensure a more personal and engaging experience. Most departures are limited to approximately 20–28 guests. Smaller groups allow for easier movement through historic cities, better access to local venues, and more interaction with guides and experts. Our art tours consist of no more than 7 people max.
Tour inclusions vary by itinerary, but most packages include:
• Accommodations at carefully selected hotels
• Transportation between destinations
• Entry to major historical sites and museums included in the itinerary
• Cultural experiences such as tastings, cooking demonstrations, or workshops
• Some group meals
• Guided experiences led by knowledgeable local experts
Each tour page provides a detailed breakdown of what is included.
Airfare to and from Spain, travel insurance, most lunches and dinners, personal purchases, and optional activities are typically not included unless specifically stated in the itinerary.
This approach allows travelers flexibility to explore restaurants and experiences that interest them.
Our tours involve a moderate amount of walking, often through historic districts with uneven pavement, hills, and stairs. Most days include several miles of walking spread throughout the day. Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.
If you have mobility concerns, please contact us before booking so we can help determine whether a tour is suitable for you.
Yes. Many of our travelers are couples between the ages of 30 and 70. Anyone in good health who is comfortable walking through historic cities should find the tours manageable. We maintain a relaxed pace and build in time for rest, meals, and independent exploration.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Insurance can help protect you in the event of trip interruptions, cancellations, medical issues, or lost luggage.
While Madridean Tours carries business insurance for operations, travelers should have their own coverage for personal travel needs.
Because our groups are intentionally small, tours can fill several months in advance. We recommend booking as early as possible once you know your travel dates.
